The Bafang BBSHD 1000-watt complete motor kit with e-bike battery is a high-performing, lightweight, quiet, fast, hill-climbing, well-engineered electric bike kit. The Bafang mid-drive BBSHD 1000W electric bike motor mounts in place of your bike’s bottom bracket, where it replaces your bike’s crankset and front derailleur if you have one.
The Bafang BBSHD 1000W electric bike motor offers both throttle and pedal-assist power. You can always use the throttle to engage the motor if you want to take a break from pedaling!
The Bafang 1000W Mid-Drive Motor is superior to both rear and front hub motors because it offers a balanced and low center of gravity. On a standard bike, the weight of the motor is balanced directly in the middle of the bike, down in your bike’s bottom bracket. With this motor located in your bike’s bottom bracket, the optimal balance and low center of gravity allow for a better riding experience.
Another advantage of Bafang’s mid-drive 1000W electric bike motor is that the full power of the motor acts on your bike’s chain, transmitting the power directly to your bike’s rear gears. This allows for the power of the motor to transfer directly into your bike’s existing drivetrain, leveraging your bike’s rear gears for superior mechanical performance.
Our kit includes all the necessary hardware and equipment to install this 1000-watt motor for your electric bike. There are extra add-ons available; however, our baseline kit includes many of the parts that other companies sell piecemeal and charge more for!

I am building a custom 3-wheel fat tire trike. The installation was very easy and has ALOT of power. I weigh around 200 lbs. and it gets me around with no problem. I would recommend this product to everyone. Very fun to ride without much pedal input.
Installed a Bafang BBSHD 1000W mid drive 120mm onto a Mongoose Dolomite ALX fat tire bike. I chose the Bafang DPC18 display. After a few tests, went with the 42T Bling chainring (which was perfect in offset and performance). This is a very powerful setup and it performed flawlessly on the KATY trail in Missouri, which is a flat packed lime sand old railroad bed.
I was able to determine that the 64-73mm would fit my bike using the paper templates provided before purchase. The kit was easy to install. I used the 42 tooth chain ring to stay as close as possible to the original chain line and after buying a new longer chain, I am able to access all 10 gears on the cassette and with a custom controller flash, I can reach 40 mph pedaling hard on a slight downhill. This thing is a real hot rod bicycle. I am glad I bought a 20 amp hour 48 volt battery. If I keep the speed down under 20 mph I still have 40 mile range, but if cruising 25 mph or more the range drops to 30 miles. I am really glad I used this motor for my conversion. Happy Camper! Strongly recommended.
My installation went well, though I am having trouble accomodating the battery to the existing frame. I will follow up with Jeff.
Install was not bad and I had it done in about 5 hours. Installed it on my fat bike, I was riding it that day. Web site was extremely helpful in all aspects of the conversion and helpful tips for riding my new “Geezer Bike”. So far I love it!!!
